Phone number for SNCF?

I want to call SNCF to reserve train tickets. I am not having much luck with the website - trains appear, they disappear, they won%26#39;t let me reserve, despite there being seats available, etc. Does anyone have a current number for SNCF ticket sales? From this forum, I found the number 011 33 92 35 35 39, but Verizon says that number does not exist.

Any help very welcome!

You might want to give the website a try again. I wrote up a booking guide that walks you through it:

tripadvisor.com/Travel-g187147-c3019/Paris:F…

The phone number you need is in the guide also if you prefer to call.

You might give the bahn.de web site a go; it%26#39;s much more user-friendly than SNCF.

If I can find my notebook with the number for the English line at SNCF I%26#39;ll post it for you.

As Morgan said, the numbers are on the link. A very recent poster used the English number, with somewhat success.

Here are the numbers:

Answer: You can book any fare over the phone with the exception of the iDTGV fares which are internet only. Here are the (untested) numbers:

33 8 92 35 35 35 (French)

33 8 92 35 35 37 (Italian)

33 8 92 35 35 38 (Spanish)

33 8 92 35 35 39 (English)

Verizon wireless (the only phone service I have) apparently does not recognize the city code %26quot;8%26quot; for France. I tried to talk to them (without much success, I might add), but the bottom line seems to be that they have no idea how to connect me, nor any idea of how to connect me to international directory assistance.

I did try the Pages Jeunes, and a nice man in France dealt with my poor French and told me that the problem is probably security restrictions on the internet site. Using the German site, I see that the tickets I want are not available for internet purchase, so I assume that%26#39;s what he meant.

Thanks for all the help here!
