Airport to Hotel Simplon...How long?

This is my first time to Lyon. Usually on a %26#39;first visit%26#39; I take a cab to my hotel, although if there is a ridiculously simple route (e.g. a bus and a short metro ride that dumps me off in front of my lodgings.....) I am travelling light so am willing to try other public transport.

Any idea on how long it will take to get from airport to Hotel Simplon, 11 Rue Duhamel, from Lyon Airport? I%26#39;m guessing 15-20 minutes by taxi.

Suggest taking the Satobus from the airport to Gare Perrache, then it is a very short walk through the station and across Place Carnot to Rue Duhamel. I believe cost of the bus is about 8 €. The bus stop at G. Perrache is the last one, so stay on till the end. Have done this before and it is very easy. (Will do it again in Sept.)

The ride will depend on the time you arrive, DelphiPhryne! Can vary if there are traffic jams or not...

With the shuttle (called Satobus) it will take 45 mn and you will pay 8,60€. You will find all info on this website:

With a taxi you will need approx. 30 mn (average time) and the cost is approx. 50/55€ (day time).

I am with Namaimo; I think that the shuttle is rather convenient for you, considering you stay very close to Perrache train station, that is the shuttle final stop.
