Brillient place to visit, why not go from Portsmouth to St Malo and drive through finishing up at Roscoff and come back to Plymouth. Roscoff is a lovely little town, with some great restaurants, Quimper is also good for old buildings. I am sure you will have a great time in what I believe is the best region in France.

We have been going to Brittany for the last seven years, always travelling about the beginning of September. We have always good weather. We stay on the West Coast in Penmarch or the small village of St Guenole. From there we travel all over Brittany.

We%26#39;ve been a few times. the journey down to Plymouth from Cheshire is not too bad, usually there is a ferry at about 3pm, so it makes for a civilised days travel. As previously mentioned Roscoff itself is nice for a wander around. the %26quot;pink Granate coast%26quot; is good for coastal walks, the area around Perros Guirec is nice although it is a long time since I was last there. Also in the North is a town called Morlaix which is not a touristy place but we found it interesting, it even has a pub with a microbrewary if you like that sort of thing.

In the south the town of Pont Aven is good for art galleries and the like. The little resort of Le Pouldu is famous for it connections with Gaugin (sorry not sure of spelling). The Quiberon penisula is very dramatic, with a rough side and a calm side. September will be out of season, but I think there will be plenty to see still, I don%26#39;t think you can go far wrong as there are so may nice places to visit. I could go on all day!

Enjoy your trip.
