A Great Lunch Spot

I am driving with my family (3 ladies, ages 12, 43, and 72) from Paris to Arles on a Saturday in mid June. I am looking for ideas for a nice place along the route to stop for lunch.

I would prefer a place that is easy to get in and out of. Beaune seems to be one option. Valence would be another. Or maybe we should stop in Lyon. Are there any particularly quaint and charming villages along our route that you would recommend?

I think that Lyon will be too far away from Paris to make a good lunch stopover (and Valence is definitively too far south, you will need to drive more than 5 hours to arrive there). And honestly I think that Lyon desserves a visit, not only a quick stop to have lunch and then go, so I don%26#39;t recommend that you stop in Lyon.

May be when you will go back from Arles to Paris: consider a stopover in Lyon, but stay one night, it is worth visiting: the whole city center is a UNESCO Heritage Site, you will like for sure the beautiful Renaissance district, but also the roman theaters, the beautiful markets along the Saône banks, etc.

Burgundy is an option. You should post this on the Burgundy forum.
