June trip -- Pavillion de la Reine or Esprit St. Germain?

I like St. Germain area or Marais. We like smaller, luxury hotels. Both locations are charming but Pavillion a bit quieter.

I can get 3 night package in a duplex room (two levels and 25 sq meters) at Pavillion for $1150 Euros, it includes breakfast and taxes.

For Esprit St. Germain, I can get a 3 night package in a deluxe room (22 square meters) for $1480. This includes breakfast, open bar in lobby, anything in room mini bar and sedan service to/from airport.

What to do? It is our first trip to Europe together, husbands birthday and our once a year time alone from three small children.

Help and thanks!!

Sounds like two deluxe choices. Put them both into a hat and pick one.

PS Do they both have vacancies for your dates?

PS You are very lucky to have %26quot; once a year time alone from three small children%26quot; many people don%26#39;t get that till their kids are teens!! I have three kids too, and boy , I would have stayed at the Holiday Inn off the highway 50 miles away just to escape them when they were young, LOL,

Joan1 -- You are funny! We would never have gone to Paris except I have to go for a business trip so we%26#39;re heading out early to have a getaway.

Yes both have availability. I studied in Paris during college and lived in the 14th and frequented left bank but know Marais also lovely. I just booked the Pavillion because they were having a promotion but open to changing!

Hi Lulubelle,

I would be inclined to grab the Pavillon de la Reine

package!

Reasons-this hotel comes up time and time again on lists of the best, most romantic and best located hotels in Paris. Seems perfect for a child-free escape.

It is a part of the Place de Vosges which is usually called %26quot;The prettiest square in Paris%26quot;.

The Marais is considered uber cool for shopping and restaurants.

I had a look at the Esprit St. Germain website-doesn%26#39;t look as appealing to me and quite variable reviews on TA.(one of them slammed the contents of the inclusive minibar)

To me the Pavillon wins hands down!

Shooshy

I would choose the Pavillon de la Reine simply because it%26#39;s one of the hotels I%26#39;ve been admiring for quite a while. However, if for some reason you select the other hotel, I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll enjoy staying there. I don%26#39;t think you can wrong with either choice.

Shoesy and Shoosy,

Thank you! Great advice from Israel and Australia -- two other places I am dying to visit.

Does anyone have any Paris/Marais restaurant advice? I am a huge falafel person so will check out the falafel stand but also want some upscale dining experiences. We have Sat night reservations at Senderens, which is supposed to be lovely.

Fun and chic bars for a cocktail would also be appreciated!

I have booked the Pavillion de Reine and am very excited about it! Requested the updated contemporary section as I am not a huge toile, antique fan...fingers crossed!

Have a great trip!
