Train to angouleme from paris

If we arrive by plane into Paris CDG is it best to

1. Take the TGV from aeroport CDG 2GV to angouleme OR

2. go into paris and take the TGV to angouleme from Montparnasse

you can do both - there are less trains from CDG to Angouleme direct, and they only run at what are most likely to be inconvenient times for you.

If a train direct from CDG is running when you want it will save a lot of dragging bags through Paris. It probably wont save you time, just effort.

CDG to Montparnasse I suggest taking the Air France Bus.

This may be too late to be helpful, but I have made this trip many times. If your flight gets in mid to late morning, going direct from CDG is the most convenient (there is a train about 1:30). If you flight gets in very early (7:00 or earlier) there is a train about 9:00. Otherwise, you might want to go into Paris to Montparnasse, but to really compare you have to factor in leaving enough time to get into Paris (with a margin for possible bad traffic) etc., whereas if you can leave from CDG (even if you have to wait) you just walk over the the TGV station in terminal 2.
