There are 8 of us traveling to Paris June 28-July 3. We%26#39;d like to buy our 4-day museum passes and packs of 10 metro carnets before we go. There seems to be several web site that offer this option. I think it makes more sense to pay in dollars than Euros. Can someone recommend a site they%26#39;ve used?

There is no website that will sell you these items at a good price - all involve a markup over the price you will pay in Paris, not to mention a shipping charge. Metro tickets %26amp; carnets are not sold online anywhere - only the Paris Visite pass. If you have seen a site that sells metro tickets/carnets, I%26#39;d be interested to look at it.
These are quite easy to buy in Paris - go to the nearest museum on the pass%26#39;s list by your hotel and the nearest metro stop.

We bought our Museum Pass at CDG when we arrived. It was easy, no lines and off we went. Buying the carnet should not take much time when you are heading off for your first metro ride.

You can purchase the PATIS MUSEUM PASS quite easily and conveniently and less expensively once you arrive in Paris. As noted almost every on-line prepurchase offer comes with a 25%-to-35% mark-up over the official price in Paris. This mark-up times 8 becomes substantive
You cannot pre-purchase CARNETs (packets of 10 reduced-priced individual tickets) other than in Paris.
What you can pre-purchase is the PARIS VISITE, multi-consecutive-calendar-day transportation pass...which is usually a bad deal (with few exceptions)....whether purchased at its official price in Paris and even worse if pre-purchased from an outside agent.

i second everyone%26#39;s comments here. we bought the paris museum pass at CDG and the info desk where you can buy it is clearly marked and had no lines at all. the carnet can be bought at any metro station...either thru a ticket person or using the machine.

I went to www.gotoparis.net and found a 4-day museum pass for $75 each (roughly 48.70 euros when calculated at a rate of $1.53 per euro). A carnet-10 is $22 (14.30 euros, which is higher than the Paris rate of 10.90 euros). There is also $12 shipping fee that covers 4 passes and 6 carnets. However, the actual euro exchange rate is probably closer to $1.63, plus a credit card fee. Doing the math, I see where they get you to pay about 3 euros more for each item. Thanks for your comments.
