Provence to Carcossonne by train

Hi, Which city would I need to leave from in Provence to travel to Carcosonne? From there what route would I take to take a train to Cinque Terre?

There are direct trains to Carcassonne from Marseille, Aix, Avignon, Nimes etc.

The route to the 5T is via Marseilles, Nice, Ventimiglia, Genoa, taking 11 to 18 hours depending on departure time: reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en…
