Hi All,
I%26#39;ve found some very cheap flights to Perpignan during mid-july, but I%26#39;m currently struggling to find some accommodation, and was wondering if anyone could help.
There will be two of us, late 20%26#39;s, looking for a quiet beach holiday, with some nice places to eat. Don%26#39;t mind going around 30 minutes or so drive from Perpignan, but I%26#39;m not really %26#39;clued up%26#39; on Southern France so I%26#39;m struggling a bit on where to look.
Will be using taxi%26#39;s and/or public transport, so walking distance from a beach would be good.
A good value, cheap and cheerful, no frills hotel is what we are after, however, I realise that %26#39;cheap%26#39; probably isnt going to come easy in the middle of July! Would consider a bungalow or similar, but these seem extremely expensive for just two people.
Even if you could just name so resorts I should be looking at, you would be doing me a great favour!
Thanks!
Steve

Sete is a great place, and my usual recommendation for a visit to this area:
www.virtourist.com/europe/sete/index.html
It is a place that I have only passed through though, never stayed there, so I%26#39;m afraid I don%26#39;t have any cheap accommodation suggestions for you.
There are small quiet resorts along there, between Sete and Cap D%26#39;Agde, with great beaches and seafood.
Perhaps you should consider a ready set-up campsite??
Looking at their website, Keycamp have quite a number of sites within striking distance of Perpignan. Maybe you will find one to suit, and the tents are large so it MAYbe more luxurious than you think for people on a budget:

I don%26#39;t know what your price range is but if you are flying to Perpignan, there is a cheap and clean hotel not far from the station :
L%26#39;Avenir Hotel, 11 rue de l%26#39;Avenir
www.avenirhotel.com
email : avenirhotel@cegetel.net
From Perpignan you can take a bus to the nearest beach, Canet en Roussllon.
I am afraid it won%26#39;t be very quiet in mid-Huly, it is the height of the season

Hi
Finding a quiet beach will not be easy !
I%26#39;d try to book a Logis de France hotel. They are privately owned with a central booking/standards organisation. They can be booked on line.
Local hotel lists :

I would suggest Canet and this site there is superb and right on the beach:

It will be very busy then but they have a variety of accomodation so you should still find something.
Very good transport links if you don%26#39;t have a car, so exploring the area is quite easy.
There is also a direct bus to Collioure in July - beautiful town.
These are two reasonably priced hotels in Collioure:

We stayed at Pezenas close to Sete last year and enjoyed it. Sete is incredibly busy in summer particularly at weekends and without a car I didn%26#39;t get the feeling it had great public transport.
Somebody else may be able to comment on that.
The Perpignan - Canet - Collioure area has good public transport.
Have a look at:

for some more accomodation ideas.
This is good particularly for B %26amp; B%26#39;s

Hope this helps
