Annecy area hotel and things to do without a car

I%26#39;m looking for info on Les Balcons du Lac d%26#39;Annecy (apparently a %26quot;village-vacance%26quot; or holiday village), where we will stay while my husband attends a conference May 25-31. I think it used to be called Sevrier Lac d%26#39;Annecy, and the address indicates it is in Sevrier but Google maps show it closer to Cessenaz. There is only the most general info on the web link provided by the conference organizer. Has anyone tell me about this place?

Also, what can I do on my own using public transportation while my husband is at the conference? Would a day trip to Geneva be easy and worthwhile? Which towns around the lake are worth a trip? I am more interested in scenery and culture than in shopping.

Here are the bus service info from Annecy to Geneva, very convenient (I don%26#39;t pm you, post this here as it might be useful to other travellers!):

Yes your hotel is a holiday resort. May be not as convenient to you as staying in Annecy, as you plan to visit the area while your husband attends his conference. But there is a bus in Sevrier to get to Annecy, you will be able to walk to the lake and you are close to the bike path.

The useful website to check addresses in France is pagesjaunes.fr, type the adress and you will get maps, pictures and aerial views.

Thanks so much for this information--it is just what I needed. The PagesJaunes website is a great resource.
