TGV Aix to Avignon: Advance Purchase Necessary?

Two of us will be traveling the short distance via TGV from Aix to Avignon on Tuesday, May 27th. I%26#39;d like to be fairly flexible in our departure time that day and would prefer to purchase tickets at the last minute, at the station. Since it is such a short trip, it is not necessary for us to sit together, so any available seats would be fine.

Are TGV travelers allowed that flexibility, or should I purchase tickets online in advance?

I think you can purchase them at the station - a Tuesday isn%26#39;t usually a super traffic day, and it%26#39;s still early in the season. Reservations are required for the TGV, but you should be able to get your tickets an hour or so in advance, I think. Will that be flexible enough?

Thanks for the helpful reply. I%26#39;ve thought of another possibility. Our hotel in Aix is very close to the regular SNCF train station, which is in the center of town. Could we go there the day before we plan to travel, and purchase tickets for the next day%26#39;s travel,even though we would be traveling from the TGV station outside of town?

Do you know if either of the Aix train stations have staffed ticket windows, or are they completely automated?

Both stations in Aix have staff, but the station in the town centre has no trains this year, only a bus replacement service while they upgrade the track.

CC - is the bus service running to/from the train station at the same frequency as the trains? We will be coming from Marseille to Aix, so do we just go to the train station in Marseille?
