Has anyone flown Air India?

Air India has the least expensive prices like almost $200 cheaper, I have seen so far .Has anyone taken them before? Pluses/Negatives?

AIR INDIA appears to be a %26#39;crap-shoot%26#39; for the lower %26#39;buy-in%26#39; than most other carriers on the US-Paris routes. For numerous threads on AIR INDIA service, check out these--

Thank you for those sites very helpful. It looks like I%26#39;l just keep an eye on the flight costs....and pray really hard they go down.

Based on what I%26#39;ve read/heard, I would rather stay home than fly Air India. For one thing, I do not care at all for the aroma of Indian food. Reports of tattered, dirty, planes with filthy restrooms, dismissive service, way overbooked flights, frequent - and very long - delays due to mechanical problems (stuck on the plane), and on and on. If they can%26#39;t keep earphones and screens - even seats - in working order, makes you wonder...

Do you have dates yet?

If you are planning to go this summer/fall, I highly recommend you shop like the dickens and book. Fares are more likely to go way up than down. Especially if you are not booking at least 6-12 weeks ahead.

And, the longer you wait to book the hotel, the more limited your choices.

We had a horrible experience last summer with Air India.

They would never commit to 4 seats together although my husband and I were traveling with two children. Then on our day of departure from New York to London, they changed the departure time from 7:00pm to 3:00am.

We flew Virgin Atlantic instead and were VERY pleased.

Good luck!

We flew on Jet Airways on our way back from Paris and it was very nice. Jet Airways is a Indian airline. We were supposed to fly on United but our flight was canceled. I don%26#39;t know about their prices since we were just put on their flight. But, it was a very nice plane that looked pretty new. The service was excellent the economy seats were roomier than United. They gave more food than United too. I don%26#39;t really care for Indian food but the quality was very good for airline food.
