Air France bus question

We will be arriving in CDG airport in a few days. As we arrive at 7:45 in the morning, I am hesitant to take a cab to our hotel close to Luxembourg Gardens because of rush hour. I was planning on taking the Air France bus to Gare Montparnasse and from there to take a taxi to the hotel.

My question is whether it will be easy to find a taxi to take to the hotel once I get off the bus at Gare Montparnasse.

Thanks for your advice.

take the rer to the luxembourg stop... no changes needed. Then you can probably simply walk to your hotel.

Take RER as the previously poster said. Much easier as you do not have to leave the station and find a taxi. Once you get to Luxembourg, you can just walk to your hotel.

Thanks for your suggestions. My concern with the RER is the steps and our luggage. Also, the RER stop is still too far from the hotel to walk with our luggage.

I think most of us have found the same thing - if your luggage precludes the use of the RER and walking a few blocks, you%26#39;re taking much too much.

That being said, you should have no trouble finding a taxi at any gare - but you may have to walk around the building to get to the taxi ranks.

Dear Sugarbit,

I agree with 1BCTraveler:

The usual rule of thumb is to take half the clothes you think you need and twice the money! Packing light makes travel so much easier. That being said, the one time I took the RER into Paris, I joined the commute crowds, and it was a pain, even traveling with one relatively small bag.

I do like taking the Air France bus, as I find it simple, comfortable and easy, as your luggage is stowed in the hold of the bus, and there is a person at each end to help. It is cheaper to buy a round trip ticket, and there is no time limit as to when you make the return trip.

I%26#39;ve never taken the A F bus to Gare Montparnasse, but if it goes there, you should have no trouble finding a taxi to your hotel.

Bonne chance and bon voyage!

At CDG there are no stairs, only escalators. The luxembourg exit has an escalator all the way to the street so no stairs there either.

There are several taxi stands around Gare Montparnasse if you choose that route. Shouldnt be a problem finding a taxi but the square in front of the train station is large so you might have to look a bit for the taxi stand.

Many thanks to everyone for your very helpful comments. We are off to Paris Monday!
