travelling with seniors

My husband and I will spent a week in Provence in July with my parents, who are in their 70s. They are fairly active but are not that great with stairs. They are okay -- just not as full of vim %26amp; vigor as they used to be.

We have rented an apt in Roussillon for the week. Our plan is to spend a day seeing Gordes, the Abbaye, Menerbes; another day winetasting around Chateauneuf and Gigondas, with dinner in Vaison (anyone know the name of the amazing restaurant near the bridge in the low town?); another day at the Nyons market driving home via Mt. Ventoux and Sault. We would also like to hit L%26#39;Isle sur Sorgue for the market day, and perhaps Fountaine la Vaucluse.

Are my folks going to have trouble walking around these towns? I know Nyons is okay -- stayed there several years ago. And Vaison seemed reasonable, though it was a steep walk to the high part of town. How %26#39;bout the others?

Thanks!

Two restaurants spring to mind in Vaison:

The actual resurgence at Fontaine de Vaucluse is at the end of a long track which climbs quite steeply in places. It%26#39;s a pleasant walk out and back beside the river, so you could turn if you decided it was getting too much, without feeling you%26#39;d missed out completely. There is a traditional papermill part way along which we found interesting. The first time I went to the Fontaine de Vaucluse, it was in spate and very impressive - in summer I found it a slightly disappointing hole in the ground, but probably because I was making the comparison - my companion on a first visit thought it was worth seeing.

I think all the other places would be OK, not least because there are cafes to sit down if you need a rest :-)

Thank you both for your help!

I%26#39;m glad to know these outings should be okay -- and delighted to know that Le Bateleur is still there. It was divine when we happened on it several years ago.
