Booked to stay in Santa Guilia the end of May and realise car hire is advised. Having tried sorting a car am finding difficult-only really require a 3 day car rental but pick up/drop off seems a problem!Any advice?
Dont really want to pick up at Figari airport, possibly Port Vecchio but how to get there?!
Also has anyone travelled in May that can let me know if local excursions are operating?
Any advice would really be appreciated.

HI Haysiebabe.
You will almost certainly need a car if staying in Santa Guilia. I would advise you to pick up the car at the airport and keep it for the whole of your stay. It will save a lot of hassle.
I don%26#39;t know what the local public transport is like, but some services only run in July and August. see corsicabus.org.
Even though Santa Guilia is lovely, there are so many other beautiful beaches nearby - Polumbaggio, Rondinara, St. Cyprien you will want to visit, as well as Bonifacio, and Ospedale in the hills, and possibly Zonza.
I recommend holidayautos.co.uk for getting a good deal.

If you are staying at the Castell Verde, it is quite isolated and a hire car would be advisable unless you are happy just to walk to the beach and back, and use the CV on site facilities. May will be quiet at Santa Guilia, not sure what will be open - others may know ??
However, if you only want 3 days hire I would book a car through holiday autos online as Irishrover said and then take a taxi to Porto Vecchio to pick the car up, would have thought it was a 10 minute taxi ride.

Thanx guys-having done a little more research have decided to pick up at Figari airport for the weeks hire-Hertz online are actually even more reasonable then holiday autos-any good reports of Hertz as a company?

I have never had a problem using Hertz. We had a particularly good experience using Hertz in Bastia once, when the employees were very helpful.

Any advice on cost of taxis to Porto Vecchio from Castell Verde Apts would be appreciated as have come across a problem with Car hire option so now relying on Taxi%26#39;s!

Sorry you are having problems over car hire. I have no experience of taxis in the Porto Vecchio area, but experience of taxis in Corte and Calvi two years ago were 15 euros to travel about 4 kilometres. There was no meter on the taxi in Corte, but when we mentioned the cost to the hotel keeper he seemed to think it was reasonable.
