How do you take part in Bastile day?(Fete Nationale)

We will be in Paris on 14th July. I have researched this on TA, here is the link for anyone interested.

Can anyone tell me how you get to join in the firestation parties and street parties. Do you just go along?, do you need tickets. Does it seem rude if tourists join in?

Has anyone else experienced these?

Thanks

The fire station parties are open to everyone. You just stand in line and buy a ticket. Early in the evening the lines are short and there is a mix of all ages. After midnight, when we left last year, there was still a long line of young people waiting to get in, and the real party was just getting warmed up.

Go and have fun, you will be given a warm welcome by the firemen, and you will meet people who live in the neighborhood, and people who are just visiting Paris.

Here is a link that lists fire stations hosting the dances.
