Can anyone tell me about 11th district?

I am looking at booking an apartment/studio in the 11th area, Studio Sedaine from centreparis. I am wondering if anyone has stayed here before or knows about the area? Is it safe for children, shops, attraction etc... Thanks

I assume the studio is located rue Sedaine?

It is a very good location, close to the lively area of La Bastille, but rue Sedaine is very quiet (there are a lot of wholesailers, closed at night). My son lives there and like it very much.

There are several little supermarkets (Shopi rue Sedaine and Franprix rue de la Roquette), a baker, and a nice street market on boulevard Richard Lenoir. There are a lot of restaurants closeby : try Café de l%26#39;Industrie, nice atmosphere, good value for money.

The Bastille is a place to go out at night, lots of bars, restaurants and clubs. You may go to the Opera. But the neighborhood is also interesting to visit, don%26#39;t miss the Bastille marina, nice to stroll along a real port in the middle of Paris!

The Charonne district is a trendy area with nice shops and cafés.

And it is a 10 mn walk only from the beautiful Marais district. Convenient métro stops too to go further.

Well the neighborhood is fine. Choice depends on the apartment too. As you mention children, I am afraid a studio might be too tiny for a family?

Thanks for the reply. My kids are very young and the studio we are looking at will accomodate us. I am looking forward to explore Paris. As long as it is safe and lots to see within walking distance, I am happy.

It is safe, it is %26quot;hip%26quot;, there are a lot of clubs and things there.

But it isn%26#39;t %26quot;easy%26quot; walking distance to a lot of sights, it%26#39;s just a bit off to the east. Easy with the metro, but not without it.

OK then, as your kids are very young, a %26quot;hip%26quot; neighborhood is may be not the first criteria...

You may like to stay close to a park. You should consider staying near the Luxembourg garden, a paardise for children, look at this page:
