Moulin Rouge: worth it or not????

there you have it, it%26#39;s all in the title.

My husband ans I have never been to a cabaret show so we wouldn%26#39;t be able to compare it with anything else.

It%26#39;s always been a dream of mine to go.

Will I be disapointed??

Thanks for your help

You are going to hear mostly %26quot;don%26#39;t go%26quot; from the responders. And no, it%26#39;s probably not worth the money and you could see far better shows on a basic cruise ship...however, if you don%26#39;t go, you will always wonder, so maybe just do it. My husband and I went in 1989(too long ago for me to have an opinion now) to the show with our tour group, and yes, it was touristy and kinda tacky and the food wasn%26#39;t very good, but it was still fun. So do what you really in your heart want to do after weighing all the opinions.

Don%26#39;t do it.

thanx for the info..my wife and I are going to gay paris for our anniversary in october and we were looking on-line what to do whilst there...Weve seen the film then looked at the website and were shocked by the price after reading various reviews on other sites as well as this one I think we will save our money and do somthing else.BTW anyone any ideas

Don%26#39;t go. It%26#39;s like a poor man%26#39;s Cirque du Soleil. Huge line, and the show was only passable. If something nice is showing at the Garnier Opera House do that instead, since the venue alone is worth doing.

I am sorry that I have to disagree with the %26quot;nay sayers%26quot;. I went with my parents as a teenager and %26quot;had%26quot; to go there with my husband a few years ago. Yes it is very campy, no the food isn%26#39;t gourmet, but it is an experience you won%26#39;t forget. We did not go with a group and sat with a Finnish couple--we did not speak each other%26#39;s language but go along beautifully.

If you go expecting a high-end New York nightclub you will not like it. If you go remember that it is part of Paris%26#39;s history you will love it.

And yes--it is very expensive. My thought: do you want to go to a restaurant and just %26quot;eat away%26quot; the same price or do you want to have a real experience.

That is just MY opinion!

We%26#39;re going in May. Only you can decide if you%26#39;ll be disappointed...nothing in Paris sounds disappointing to me.

we did the later show

no dinner

ate elsewhere before

got a discount by buying via our hotel concierge

showed up early

got primo seats up front

we%26#39;re glad we saw it once

Thank you so much for taking time to reply guys !!!!

I decided we will go ( I thinl) but won%26#39;t have food there, like someone said, it%26#39;s got to be done once, I think I rather go and think it was a waste of time rather than not go and always wonder.

I%26#39;ve just booked our trip, I%26#39;m so excited...can%26#39;t wait.

Thanks again

i would prefer the Bobino show, it%26#39;s more specific and the dinner sounds good ...
