should I purchase TGV ticket at home or while in France?

My husband %26amp; I will be traveling from Avignon to Geneva (then Geneva--%26gt;Montreux) on a Monday (June 9) mid-morning.

Does anyone know if this route sells out quickly? I%26#39;m not sure if I should purchase the tickets through raileurope while I am at home or just take care of it when I am in Avignon. Raileurope is offering the ticket to Geneva at $84.

I%26#39;d appreciate any advice you have! thanks

I believe you will find that ticket prices will increase as seat availability decreases. There is no reason to wait, many types of fares are fully refundable if your itinerary changes.

At this late date, I am not sure you will find many PREMs (the cheapest non refundable tickets) available for 9 June travel.

It%26#39;s cheaper to do it now on the french sncf site (just google sncf train), you can choose to buy tickets now and pick them up at the stations in Frnace at the ticket-machines on every station. They also send them abroad for you, or choose the print-at-home version.

Hmm...not having much luck with the sncf site, it keeps sending me to the raileurope site after I put in all of the destination information. Maybe that is because I put USA in as the point of delivery for the tickets? I will probably just go ahead %26amp; book with Raileurope. thanks for the advice everyone!
