Planning trip for 3 to Paris for 5 nights in June and have no idea where the best places to stay in the city are and would love some help.
Any suggestions for locations and possible hotels with triple rooms would be superb.
The trip is for taking Mum on first trip to Paris to do all the touristy things. I suppose something near a metro line is a good idea?

Consider something close to the river in the 5th or 6th. Or one of the islands, if your budget allows. Nothing against other areas, just that these are very central, especially if Mom doesn%26#39;t want to walk as much. There is lots to see close by.

5thor 6th - ok I am learning hear - any idea where I could find a division of the numbers - is it like streets in NYC or more like areas?
I found a few hotels around the louvre which seems nice - it%26#39;s surely a good spot to be close to right?

If you%26#39;re going in June, you should hurry to book your hotel, June is kind of busy in Paris!
5th or 6th Arrondisements should be fine although I%26#39;ve always kind of considered the 5th a little touristy (just my opinion...)
Streets are more similar to London than New York, but a little better organized (thanks for Baron Haussman). For street addresses, try Pages Jaune(sp?), Michelin%26#39;s roadmap website or Google Earth.
Most every area in central Paris is no more than a 5 to 10 minute walk from a Metro, I like the laminated %26quot;Streetwise%26quot; map of Paris - can always find a Metro stop no matter where you are.

The useful site to check the adresses is Pages Jaunes:
pagesjaunes.fr/trouverlesprofessionnels/…
Just type any address in the blank space and you will get street maps, pictures of the building and of the street, arial view and also useful information about the neighborhood (restaurants, shops, etc).

Try Henri IV River Gauche, they have triple rooms, but at this late date you could be in trouble. On the Summer solstice, June 21, the City of Paris sponsors a city wide musical festival. Very popular.

You can also try Citadines St Germain des Pris. Newly renovated and since it is part apartment and part hotel they may have something similar to a triple room.

You can also try the Marais area. These are some of the 4 stars hotels, but they have links to some 3 stars. Go to rates and look to see if they have triple rooms. It%26#39;s another great area close to central Paris and the sites.

Try the tripadvisor for hotel accomidations and make your requests.

The Hotel Britannique is VERY centrally located, and there%26#39;s a metro station right across the street. Perhaps a superior twin room would suit you if you don%26#39;t mind the fact that it%26#39;s a small room.

holidayjems,
To answer your earlier question, the numbers people are mentioning refer to areas - Paris is divided into 20 %26quot;arrondissements%26quot; that start with the 1er in the middle and spiral outwards. Not a very detailed map, but this gives you an idea of how that works : http://www.parisnet.net/parismap.html
If you%26#39;re confused about which arrondissement a hotel is located in, check its postal code - the last two digits are the arrondissement (i.e. 75003 - 3rd arrondissement, 75004 - 4th arrondissement, etc.)
Hope that helps you figure things out.

i would also recommend the 5th or 6th. Booked to stay in the 5th myself in September. Stayed near the Moulin Rouge last year and found it a bit too far from all the major sites.
