in 7th for one day (sunday) want to find a certain wine

Hi

I am staying in the 7th for a late saturday night and then a sunday - and i want to try and find a bottle of wine: 2004 Sancerre, %26quot;La Croix du Roy%26quot; Lucien Crochet. I%26#39;d take another year but I would love to have a glass (bottle) of this wine again - and see if it is as good as I remember.

Any ideas where i could go looking to buy such a bottle?

Thanks

There is a Nicolas Wine shop on Rue Cler.

Thanks - I just searched their store and they do not carry this wine.

Any one else have any ideas?

I%26#39;ve generally found that you don%26#39;t save any money buying French wines in Paris vs. buying them in the U.S.

I went to http://www.wine-searcher.com/wine-select.lml and typed in Lucien Crochet and entered the 2004 vintage, and came up with 3 shops in the U.S. that sells the wine you seek, and they likely will ship it to you...

Thanks for tht link!

But, in case I wanted one bottle -just for the day..in Paris..does anyone else know where I might find it?

Thx

You are asking for something that%26#39;s a little difficult: a specific wine, available for sale in a shop that ideally is located in the 7th, and the shop likely needs to be open on a Sunday, since you won%26#39;t be in Paris until late Saturday. That%26#39;s a fairly tall order.

I don%26#39;t know if you can find it, but try this site:

The only way you are going to get the real answer here is to contact the Domaine and ask them.

Website is www.lucien-crochet.fr and there is an English version which works. Suggest you email or telephone them, as they do quite a lot of export to both the USA and the UK, plus the website is translated UK, this means someone will probably understand/speak English.

By the way, not all wine shops would be open on a Sunday - perhaps ask Lucien Crochet to send you a bottle to where you are staying if it means that much! On the other hand, it must be worth asking which wine bars/restaurants in the 7th stock it.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone - I am just trying to relive a moment - the 7th and the wine...a fond memory that I wanted to recapture.

If it cannot be done then i%26#39;ll just make new ones - an easy thing to do in Paris - such a wonderful city, such a great place to be alive in. But it was a wonderful red Sancerre...and it would be so great to drink it again .in paris...sigh

Thanks again everyone!

Perhaps the concierge at your hotel could assist you and have the bottle ready upon your arrival.

Ok - I have sent an email to Lucien Crochet and will see what they say. I also like the idea of asking my concierge to obtain the bottle for me - that was a great idea!

Thanks again
