I was booking a ticket on the website and was about to pay with my credit card but now I%26#39;m having doubts:
1) Reading the General Terms %26amp; Conditions I saw in the Item %26quot;Geographical area of application%26quot; that the SNCF products and service are exclusively addressed to customers residing in the countries listed in Appendices 1, 2 and 3. However Argentina where I live doesn%26#39;t show up in any of those Appendices. If I buy the ticket online will I have problems to collect them at the station later or during the trip when I show my argentinien passport?
2)The only magnitic strip card it accepts is Diners, this one is the Credit card issue by citibank? What happens if I use a mastercard with magnetic strip instead of chip, I won%26#39;t be able to retrive my tickets?

There won%26#39;t be a problem. What you need to do is check the box for %26quot;delivery in France%26quot; (which is true, even if you show a passport from Argentina as your identification). For more help, try the MorganB post about booking train tickets. tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g187147-i14-k58793…
Also, not sure about your question regarding the credit card - I have used Visa and other cards to pay on line with no problem. There is some problem with trying to retrieve the tickets from on of the machines at the stations because of the chip issue, but all you need to do is go to a ticket window, show them your confirmation e-mail (with the ticket/dossier number on it), and show them the SAME credit card you used on line to pay for the ticket. I did this last May with no problem.
If you are lucky enough to get a really low (PREM) fare, you will be able to print the tickets at home and take them with you, so then you just get on the train and give the conductor the printed ticket when asked (don%26#39;t worry about using the validation machine, it won%26#39;t stamp that type of ticket and no one expects it to be stamped).

When I bought Thalys tickets last year, I pretended I was in Belgium. This gave me the option of printing my tickets straight away - which I did - so no need to collect them at the station.
I used an Australian issued Amex card and as already explained, you have to show the ticket along with the card you used to purchase the ticket to the train conductor.

If all fails you can buy your ticket last minute at one of the SNCF boutiques that are all over Paris. There is a train every 30 minutes going to Brussels.
On day before departure, you can check on line for last minute specials. When asked for your country say France (if that%26#39;s where you are leaving from).
You can pay by credit card on line and print your ticket if all goes well. You will not get deals at rush hour but if you leave after 10:00 you might.

Thank you for all your replies. Berkeley_travelers%26#39;s explanation and MorganB%26#39;s post reassured me and I already booked my tickets.
However, I had to buy the tickets for a couple of hours later than I wanted because, when I went to the website to buy the tickets the minute I saw Berkeley_travelers%26#39;s reply last night, they were gone! At least I didn%26#39;t have to pay more...
All in all the forum saved my plans. :)

My husband and I bought our tickets from the Thaly%26#39;s site for Paris to Amsterdam. We chose the the print option, and did not have trouble printing what we assume are the tickets, however the tickets are in French and we are not sure if these are the actual tickets to board the train or if we have to take this printout to the window.
The background of ticket has a watermark of our names, there is a barcode on the right side for scanning, printed on the ticket is our names, birthdates, the train number, destination and time on it.
Is anyone familiar with this type of printout or how it works?
Many Thanks

That is, indeed, your ticket!

Thanks Berkeley, that helps!
