Does anyone know any really nice bakeries or patisseries in Paris? I tried searching but could not find anything.
Thanks for your help with this.

A couple of the more well-known:
Poilane on Rue Cherche-Midi.

Laduree on Rue du Royale and Champs Elysees.

Hello, for me the best Laduree. You can%26#39;t miss it. You can just buy to go, or sit there at tea time, fantastic location and well decorated, enjoy it!

Pierre Herme! In my opinion, the BEST macarons and other delicious goodies. I want to marry him (don%26#39;t tell my husband) :P

I enjoyed La Carrette, which is, I believe, at #4 Trocadero. www.carrette-paris.com/presentation.htm
is their website; see if this interests you. The food is superb, and the macarons are to die for!

I would stick to chains if I am short on time. Otherwise, there are many wonderful independent shops.
Fauchon, La Duree, Le Notre. These outlets are all over the city. Place de Madeleine has both Fauchon and La Duree.
I suggest you check out %26quot;Eating and Drinking Paris%26quot; by Time Out. Tons of info there.

Dear MaqTraveler30,
I very much enjoyed the pastries sold at %26quot;Paul%26quot; located on the Rue de Buci, which is in St. Germain des Pres. You will have no problem finding wonderful bakeries in Paris- they are everywhere!
Bonne chance and bon voyage.

There are plenty everywhere...you may say that is to general but watch when you get there you will do what I did. You%26#39;ll just be walking down a street see something that looks amazing in the window and you just have to stop in and get one! Watch out though you may find yourself on a consant sugar high...hehehe
Cheers,

There may be no website with a compendium of boulangeries and patisseries but if you either buy or sign out at your local library: Paris Boulangerie %26amp; Patisserie ISBN 0-517-22490-9
or Patricia Wells%26#39; Food Lover%26#39;s Guide to Paris you will find what you are looking for.
