We are going on the chunnel on friday,normally head straight for Boulogne-sur-mer,have lunch %26amp; then do Auchan.My daughter-in-law says that carre-four is very good %26amp; that cite-europe is worth stopping at.Just wondered what others have thought of it %26amp; how it compares pricewise with Auchan(which we love %26amp; have always found good value?

Both in the US and in France I make an effort to avoid the %26quot;grand surface%26quot; retailers. However, when I do go, I find myself in Carrefour more often than elsewhere.
Additionally, I like products of the Carrefour house brand - Reflets.

Yes thats the way we have always felt,but think that we will give carre-four a go this time,we can always go back to Auchan the next time if we aren%26#39;t happy.thanks for replying

Do you prefer Tescos or Sainsburys? it comes down to that, I do the shopping at Carrefour and when my wife goes she does Auchan. Cite Europe has a Carrefour and dozens of other shops all under one roof if you like that sort of thing and plan on spending your whole day shopping. If you only want to pop in and out do Auchan at Boulogne as you already know it

Just go to both and make up your own mind!
They are only a mile or so apart in Calais.

just got back,if shopping malls are your thing then cite-europe is fine but its not ours,glad we went,but will be going back to auchan,weather was gorgeous so didnt want to spend it in the shopping mall.FYI if any ladies of a certain age (like me)need the toilet the only one we could locate was at the porte de luxembourg,there were none in carrefour!!
