A Compiled List of your Favorite Hotels

The hardest part about any holiday is choosing you hotel. For alot of us we have saved for a very long time in order to make this holiday possible and the hotel we choose can sometimes make or break your special holiday.

So I thought why not help each other out and put together a compiled list of our favorite places to stay in Paris.

Please include the Arr. maybe a website and of course the reason why you recommend this particular hotel. If you could include the price range per night that would be very helpful as well.

Looking forward to reading all your suggestions.

Mine is the Hotel Muguet in the 7th located on a very quiet street where it is possible to sleep with your windows open. it is very close to a metro station and alot of places to eat. for a Queen room it is 135 euros a night.

If you go to http://geocities.com/hiddenparis/ you can download my guide which has about 20 hotel recommendations on it.

There is some interesting info on the Hospitel Hotel right on Ile de la Cite and some other nice 2 and 3 star recommendations.

I always stay at Hotel Lyon-Mulhouse, near the Bastille.

It is very convenient for public transit, right around the corner from Place des Vosges, walking distance from the Marais (my favourite spot in Paris) and the islands and conveniently located for other sites as well.

I%26#39;ve stayed there 3 times so far and have booked another stay for May. I pay 90 euros for a very large double room with a large bathroom.

there is a website that was just mentioned to me by Helking that is awsome to look first hand at the hotel you are looking at by video.

L%26#39;hotel du 7e Art is in the Latin quarter

I%26#39;m paying 85 euro per night for an airconditioned room with a double bed.

A delightful little hotel (26 rooms), with charming young owners who have thought of everything. Black and white is the theme throughout - a checked floor in the bar/breakfast room and old film posters decorate the walls. Up the black carpeted stairs, the bedrooms are softly, un-showily decorated. Some rooms are pretty small, the atmosphere is peaceful (the bar closes at midnight) and the oldest residential part of Paris is all around you.

Hotel Britannique on Avenue Victoria in the 1st is conveniently located across the street from the Chatelet metro station.

Dear Magic:

Here is a list of the hotels I%26#39;ve stayed at and enjoyed:

1. Relais du Louvre-1st Arr. A charming hotel with lovely staff and a great location just one block from the Seine. Across the street from the beautiful St. Germain Auxerrois. From the bed, I could see the angel atop the steeple. Small rooms, but well equipped and on a quiet street. Also has good air conditioning and very comfortable beds.

2. Caron de Beaumarchais- Marais - 4th. This is a small hotel, with lovely furnishings, great baths, good breakfasts, central location and quiet rooms, especially those in the back. Good air conditioning, too.

3. BW Hotel Jardin du Cluny in the Latin Quarter (5th) I liked the idea that we were on a quiet street, and I could sleep with the window open. Good, central location, helpful, friendly staff, and spotless. We also enjoyed the breakfasts in the cave.

4. Hotel le Verneuil, rue de Verneuil. I believe the hotel is in the 7th, but extremely close to the 6th. Small, charming hotel with a beautiful lounge to relax in. The staff is friendly and helpful. The linens are first rate. Great air conditioning. Small rooms, but loaded with period detail. Two blocks from the Seine, and close to major sites including the Musee D%26#39;Orsay and the Louvre, and my favorite shopping street-the Rue Jacob. The area surrounding this hotel is filled with antique shops, which makes for great window shopping.

5. Best Western Bradford Elysees. -8th Arr. Huge rooms, especially for Paris. Mine have always come with marble fireplaces. Interesting neighborhood, and close to the Rue du Fauxbourg St. Honore. I could see the tip of the Eiffel Tower from my small balconcy.

Paris is filled with great hotels, and so I%26#39;m sure many more can be listed by other posters.

Merci!
