Everybody Loves Polidor Resturant - Any Other Similar Ones ?

Great Food at Moderate Prices in Paris?

If you know Polidor... perhaps you can suggest other options for good food at similar prices.

Thanks

A tailor-made Q. We had dinner at Polidor just two weeks ago and had a great meal which, with a bottle of wine, came to just over 50.00 euros. Three other places which I think are comparable in terms the food and cost, (within less than 10.00 euros),but in smaller places are...

Le Temps Perdu at 54 rue de Seine, 75006

Le Colimacon at 44 rue du temple 75004 (over in the Marais, maybe a 15 minute walk) and

Robert and Louise at 64 rue du Temple 75003, one and a half blocks away from Le Colimacon.

You def need reservations for the last as it is a small place with very limited seating and it gets busy. We were lucky to have gotten there when they opened just after 7:00 and were going to sit at the bar for dinner but a small table opened up. The grill is in the back at the end of the seating area and you can watch food being cooked. We were gong to order a big dish of prawns to go with the grilled sausions appitizer and grilled mushrooms, but the waiter said %26quot;Non, the best is grilled meat,%26quot; so we ordered the grilled entrecot. Fabulous meal with the Languedoc. Came to about 60€00.

Everyone on this site loves Le Coupe Chou in the Latin Quarter, and with good reason. Their salad and boeuf bourginon is to die for!

I don%26#39;t love Polidor. The last time I went there (and it will be the last) I was served dried out and burned escargots. When I explained to the waiter (in French) why I refused them patrons at the next table applauded quietly. I walked out!

Thank You PJK

Exactly the type of response that I was looking for.

I%26#39;ll only be there 4 nights and now I have a different place for each night. Thank you.

But if anyone else cares to %26quot;chime in%26quot; I%26#39;ve got 4 lunches to eat also...

I was oddly excited to see Pjk%26#39;s mention of Le Temps Perdu. I first visited this restaurant 30 years ago and have been a recurring customer ever since.

My friend has a copy of what we had at Polidor and the others which I%26#39;ll post, but there was one more in the area that I forgot, Le Mazzarin on the rue Mazzarin. We got it into our heads to have lentils after seeing them sold at one of the markets. Le Mazzarin had lentils with saussions Lyonasse which was very good. We must have also split a salad. But since it was raining that night we lingered over expressos and we both agreed that these were the best expressos we had had in Paris.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

I thought the Polidor was OK, nothing to write home about...

Near the Bastille, I like to go for lunch at Le Temps de Cerises, 31 Rue de la Cerisaie, a small bristrot catering to locals.

Last time we had an amazing meal at Chez Janou at 2 rue Roger Verlomme and had great fun at La Cave de l%26#39;Os à la Moelle, a little further away at 181, rue de Lourmel. The restaurant Boulangerie, near Pere Lachaise was also a great find.
