Ok I have been given another hint in my surprise trip to Paris my husband has said I need to look for a hotel with air conditioning.
our budget is about 150 Euros a night. We like our room to get cool and not too noisey you know the noise I am talking about with alot of hotel air conditioning units.
This will be our second trip to Paris and our last was last fall so there was no need for one at that time. Would like a room a little larger that the Hotel Muguet(though we loved the hotel) and a full shower no need for a bathtub.
Any suggestion please?
Cheers!!

All of us who live in Paris do not have AC and we survive!

Just be happy it has AC. I wouldnt worry about the noise.

Point taken but alot of the hotels for tourist do have a/c and my husband and I would like to choose one of those to stay in. We do not like being hot when we sleep and when on holiday I like to be as comfortable as possible.
Cheers!

I can tell you that the a/c at Hotel Muguet is magnificent. Individual room control, very quiet, room cools quickly. For more space, you could book a superior or triple room...
When we stayed in a regular double at Hotel Muguet, the second day we thought to store our empty bags in the storage room, so that gave us aisles!
Otherwise, it will be a challenge to find larger rooms with air conditioning and be sure that it%26#39;s quiet.
But, I surely agree about having air conditioning. It%26#39;s one thing to wait out a heat wave at home in front of a fan and not doing much. On vacation, however, hot weather really slows you down. It%26#39;s not only really nice to come %26quot;home%26quot; each day to a comfortable room, getting dressed in a hot hotel room is dreadful, along with the sleeping.

We stayed at Hotel Muguet and had a suite with a sitting room and it was very large. Totally enjoyed it. I think it was #036

I guess I will need to take another look at the Hotel Muguet, we stayed in a Queen room last time so let me see about the larger rooms. Thank you all.
But if anyone comes up with any other suggestions ,I am still looking.
Cheers,

I think I answered another query of yours yesterday about beds and mentioned that the hotel I reco%26#39;d had quiet A/C units. Maybe its not upscale enough, but definitely in your budget (I think it was 120 euros last September)...
And, I dont care what any local says - I wouldnt stay in Paris in the summer - early October without AC and not embarrassed about it! Too much street noise to open the windows (I cant do it at home either). I specifically went for a courtyard room so that I could open the windows but there were times when it was just too stiffling without the AC.

Yeah, this is one time the locals are definately off base, was it La Photograph who said:
%26quot;we don%26#39;t have a/c and we all survive%26quot;%26#39;
Umm, no actually you didn%26#39;t all survive the heat wave a few years ago now did you, in fact quite a few elderly or feeble did die as I recall.
Paris in the summer can be very hot and very unpleasant as they do not get an %26quot;ocean breezes%26quot; that can be cooling. Many ( most) public buildings do not have a/c so you get little relief unless you go and stand in a food store , LOL
I have been in August and had it cool and rainy for the whole 9 days though, so is it still important to have A/c all the time,, yes, because if you need it , you need it. You invest alot in a holiday to Paris, and a good nights sleep and a cool retreat after walking around in heat all day makes a big difference in how you will feel.
Lastly , if you cannot find it, or cannot afford it, at the very least make sure your hotel is on a quiet street, or you get a room facing an inner courtyard, otherwise having the window open at night is not an option in many places because of noise.
If you go in August you can find many hotels offer reduced rates, better then July in that respect.

Dear Magic97,
I believe I recommended the Relais du Louvre to you for the comfy bed? It also has good airconditioning, and is on a small, quiet street just opposite the beautiful church of St. Germain Auxerrois. From our room, we could see the angel on top of the steeple. It is very well located, and has easy access to the Left Bank.
I can also recommend the Hotel le Verneuil, located on the Rue de Verneuil, which I think is technically in the 7th, but close enough to the 6th, that it makes no difference. The rooms have excellent air conditioning. It is 2 blocks from the Seine, and in the other direction a block from the Rue Jacob, one of my favorite streets on the Left Bank.
Bonne chance and bon voyage.
