I am taking my bf to Nice for his birthday. I need to find a very nice restaurant with great food for the special day. I did some research but there are too many restaurants. Could anyone give me some ideas please?

depends on your budget, but i would recommend La Petite Maison for a special meal (lat time i visited Elton John was at one table and David Coultard at another.
There are also many other lovely restaurants in Nice,
What is your budget.

My favorite splurge restaurant is Jouni La Reserve. The setting either in the more casual downstairs or the elegant upstairs is lovely--it%26#39;s right on the water. The food and service are top notch.
For something very nice but not nearly as expensive I%26#39;d suggest Tire Bouchon in the old town.

I would also suggest Le tire bouchon. Going there on Saturday night myself!

I did consider taking him to La Petite Maison. However, most of the reviews I read said they are unfriendly to guests who did not speak French. So I did not want that problem. My budget would probably be 125EUR for two. Since the $ is so weak =(

We go back to Nice in September for the fifth time in six years and I am going to celebrate my 80th birthday with my two daughters during that visit. We have favorite restaraunts, based on service and food and attitude. Le Tire Bouchon is at the top of the list especially for a great meal and a romantic atmosphere. You will get neither at Petite Mason. At Le Tire Bouchon you will be treated like as a special guest because they treat everyone that way.And two can certainly eat there for 50eu per person. I haven%26#39;t decided whether to eat there for my birthday or at Chez Julliette in the old town or Pot%26#39;dEtienne not in the old town. These are two other great favorites but it will probably be Le Tire Bouchon. It is a special evening!

Thanks for all the advice. I will try Le Tire Bouchon. Do you need to make reservations? It may be hard for me to make a call from there. Also happy 80th!

I think you could probably go to their website and email them for a reservation or just get your hotel to call them. Website is le-tire-bouchon dot com
|||
yes, you must make a reservation and one way to do this is e-mail your hotel and ask them to make the reservation for you. Since you are only going to be in Nice for two days (nights?) definately have lunch at La Voglia and your other dinner can be at the charming, delicious outside terrace of Chez Julliette in the old town. This is one of the best eateries in Nice and will run about 35-40 eu but they also have a pre fix menu that includes everything %26amp; dessert. One of our favorites.

We loved Le Tire Bouchon! It%26#39;s really a special place and not too expensive. It%26#39;s actually a two sided restaurant. We loved the side on Rue Prefecture. Enjoy!
