Cycling between Toulouse & Pyrennes

We will be visiting the region this summer and would like to find a good base between Toulouse %26amp; the Pyrennes. I would love to ride some of the grand cols and my wife would love to explore Toulouse and surrounding area.

Are there any interesting little towns, villages or hotels that would provide a good base?

How is the riding around the Toulouse area for a road cyclist who enjoys varied %26amp; interesting terrain of up to 100 km per day.

Appreciate any help.

We were just invited to a wedding this summer (August 2nd) in Toulouse and I too would like to bring my bike and ride the Pyrennes. Have to found out anything about routes etc?? When are you planning to be in France?
