Is a day trip possible from Paris (6th) to the Somme?

We (4) are visiting Paris end Sept and were thinking of taking a trip out to the Somme? Is it possible in a day, and by ways other than hiring a car?

Then you have to look into trains.

There are tour companies going to Normandy but not aware of any going to Somme.

A car would be your best bet however if you want to see a few stops in one day. Once out of Paris it is an easy ride.

I believe there are tours leaving from Doullens, maybe also Amiens.

Thanks so much. I%26#39;ve searched the forums and many talk of Normandy but not the Somme. Looks like I have a new strand of research to do!
