My son wants to climb to the second level and then take the lift to the top. Questions ??
1) Can one buy a ticket to the top at the 2nd level or does it need to be purchased at the bottom ticket booth ?
2) Will walking up save any time bypassing the lines at the bottom or is the biggest wait at the 2nd level ?
Thanks for you input.

According to the Rick Steve%26#39;s guide you can. And the earlier you get there the better it is...

Hi
My wife and I did did as you can read about the details in my trip report with pictures http://gardkarlsen.com/Paris_France.htm . We chose to walk up to level 2 as this was the shortest line at the ground level :-) We took our time walking up and enjoyed the view along the way.

You can purchase a supplement ticket on the second level which allows you to continue to the top. There may be a long line to buy the ticket from the booth on the second level but nearby there%26#39;s also an automatic ticket machine that accepts credit cards. The line for the machine is usually much shorter.
