Smaller Inns in Paris?

It%26#39;s been 15 years since I stayed in Paris - does anyone have any great B%26amp;B or smaller Inn recommendations? Two people traveling the last week in June - will be attending a conference then on our own for 7 nights. Would prefer central location. Many thanks, Cathy

You will find lots of nice small hotels, most of them expensive. But you did not mention a price range. The more central, the more you pay.

We like Les Rives de Notre Dame in the 5th on the quai a half block from the St. Michel metro station. It is reviewed on Trip Advisor. Most reviewers like it, but it%26#39;s not cheap. In Paris, as everythere else, you pay for location, service and space. It offers all three, which is why we are willing to pay for it.

A less expensive place nearby which some people love, is Les Degres de Notre Dame on the street of the same name. We%26#39;ve only eaten in the restaurant which is very good and not expensive. I understand the rooms are nice, although the service apparently can be uneven and there is no elevator and no lobby. You just show up at the restaurant, check in at the cashier station and lug your bags upstairs. The people who run it are very pleasant but if you hit it at the wrong time, you may not find anybody there who speaks much English.

There are a few reviews on TA. Somewhat spendy, great central location.

Many thanks for the input! Will do some checking - even if the dollar is so weak - it%26#39;s still worth the journey. Cathy
