We are arriving in Paris at 7:30 in the morning on July 4th (a Friday) and there are 7 of us. As we won%26#39;t be able to check in yet we were thinking of dropping off our bags at the hotel and purchasing tickets on the open bus for the day. They all want to go to the Eiffel Tower first so that will probably wind up being about 11:00 a.m. I am thinking that will be the worst possible time with regard to the lines. Please advise. Thank you

I%26#39;ve seen long lines - I%26#39;ve seen manageable lines - all luck of the draw -
I%26#39;d still go for it - and if the lines are horrendous, move on %26amp; come back later.

I agree with Minneapolis, It%26#39;s kind of pot luck. Friday would certainly be better than the weekend. If there are long lines at the bottom level of people waiting for an elevator from there, a lot of times there will be shorter line where you can buy a ticket to walk up to the second level and catch the elevator from there. Some people find just enjoying the view from the second level is better than waiting to go to the top.
Watch out for all the scam artists around the tower. I%26#39;ll post more on this if you%26#39;d like.
A real good way for getting around Paris is getting an all day pass on the metro. It costs 9.5 euros. Takes you to just about all of the major sites. I%26#39;m not familiar with where the bus takes you.
